Boat Camping

We took the sailboat out on an overnight cruise this weekend. We launched the boat at about 4:30 in the evening, and sailed away from the dock. We sailed for about an hour to the far end of the lake.

Captain Keri, and first mates Coaly, and Zephy piloted the boat down the lake under sail while crewman DrewBee tended the trimming of the sails.

When we turned the corner into the Coleman Arm we came into a wind shadow. We thought this would be a good time to douse the sails and motor up to the end of the arm where we anchored near a slalom course.

The water was like glass all night. We woke to the wake of a bass boat rocking the boat at 6:00 am. Apparently there was a fishing tournament today and boats were out early looking for fish. Shore was only a short dhingy ride away for the puppies to go potty.

Keri spent a lazy morning rowing around in the dinghy taking photos before we headed back to the marina. We sailed briefly on the way home but the wind was mostly in our face so we just motored back to the dock where we packed up the boat and drove it 2 blocks back to Jerry's house where it is parked.

(keris edit: LAZY Whatever I rowed my arms off.... walking up stairs is anything but easy... It wasn't lazy last weekend when you had to row!!) ;)

More photos from our adventure are here on Picasa.

Puppies in a boat

Today was a bright sunny day in Coos Bay, with the temp hitting 65!!!! I know I know, but I still got a little sunburn, and I don’t remember the last time that happened! Drew and I headed over to Lakeside and played in a row boat and kayaks. Of course we had to bring the puppies, they loved it. I think I could name 100 easier things to do while you are nearly six months pregnant. The Row boat was fine, I didn’t even get tired. Though I don’t know what Drew was complaining about the whole time, :P

Getting into the kayak however was a different story. I pretty much had to just roll of the dock and hope I landed in the boat. I have had many more entries in to a kayak, all of which were more stylish. Such as descending off a cliff on a rope into a kayak, that was a 50 foot drop without a problem…. This was six inches and I am sure I made a bigger slash this time.

Then to make things even more exciting, I added two dogs to my boat.

Well I only had the puppies in my boat for a minute, then I gave them to Drew. All I needed was a dog on my bladder while I sat confined in a hard plastic boat.

Five Months

Everyone has been hassling me for a pic so here it is.
Update: Well it has been about five months of constant vomiting but it has at less subsided to first thing in the morning. I now get to deal with the physical pain of bending over and look forward to when I can’t put on my own socks anymore. :( I mean what if my sock line bothers me and I can’t fix it????
I have been pretty busy working for the hospital and teaching for the Red Cross (again) other than that all is the same in coos bay. Ohh my Parents did buy us the crib we wanted. Thanks mom and dad!!! (Dunn's and Miranda!!!)
