Sea Trials

We went sailing out on the bay this weekend. Winds were a little stiff and provided for some excitement. Keri and mOm stayed ashore and took photos, not wanting to get sick from the rough water. We were able to sail up the bay tacking into the wind and making good time in the 20 knot winds with gusts reaching 25-30 knots. The boat was healed over to 30 degrees frequently and we think we got to 40 degrees a couple times!

All it takes is two sailboats on the same body of water at the same time and you have a race! We met this boat near the upper end of the bay. They passed us sailing down wind while we were on an upwind tack. They then fell in right behind us and the race was on! Their boat was larger than ours at 28 feet, and were catching us sailing up wind. When we turned and started running downwind we were able to out run them easily.

This is us on the left in the smaller yellow boat and our competition on opposite tacks.

Returning on the downwind run was much more relaxing. We ran the sails "Wing-on-Wing" and scooted all the way back down to the marina.

Coolest Crib Ever!!!

Scott made us a crib or bassinet that we will use for a very long time in fact I fear that when he is 5-8 we may find the little guy trying to sail away in because it is a real boat. But enough talk photos right…..

New Orleans part 2 + some

Well I am back from Miranda’s Graduation. Ellen Degeneres spoke at her graduation and I must say she gave a far superior speech for a graduation then I had ever heard. You can view if for yourself, it is about 10 mins long but total worth every min. I just wish my collage graduation would have been this cool.

The Graduation class for 2009 was the class that got evacuated from Hurricane Katrina during their first three days of being there. They then had to go a semester to a different University elsewhere in the US.

I have been very busy the week befor I went to New Orleans I worked a total of 60+ hours so I total forgot one other small update

DISCLAMER PAULA AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT DOES NOT WANT TO KNOW THE SEX STOP READING NOW!!!

I guess I felt that sense Breana told everyone she was having a girl I would tell everyone we or having a boy. Can I just tell you what a good friend Breana is. She is six weeks behind me. I found out when I was about six weeks and called her as soon as I found out. Well a good friend will get pregnant with you right. :D

And more pics of New Orleans
