Today we took at ride in the truck along the beach to see the New Carissa before they start trying to remove it. The rumor is that they will start tonight. They built the structure outside of our front window. Last night we notice the two 70 feet cranes where missing and we could see a whole lot more water. The New Carissa was a cargo ship that ran aground during a storm in back in 1999. It later started to come apart. At one point they attempted to tow the bow section of the ship out to sea; however, that attempted failed when the tow line broke. It was again grounded to the beach. Eventually they were able to tow the bow out to sea where it sunk. The Fuel that was on board was burned; sadly a significant amount was spilled causing ecological damage to the coast line. Needless to say they are paying a lot of money to have it removed. Being basically unemployed leaves a lot of time to research the area!

Keri, That is awesome to see and know about! I am glad you posted it. Very interesting. :)
Don't think of it as "unemployment," Ker. Think of it as an opportunity to undertake extensive formative research of your new surroundings.
